  1. Hey everybody,
I liked reading this article and here are a few ways it got me thinking. Just like math is a constant (2+2=4). God is out constant. He doesn't change and is always true.
Also it was neat to see from the bible that God made everything, even math.

    1. so true. Also, God has allowed us to understand math. He could have left a great unknown in our lives by making it incapable of understanding math, but He didn't. This is also like how He lets us understand Him by giving us His word.

    2. I agree I had never thought about it that way

    3. I like how you said like said God is constant. Think if God was not constant we could not rely on Him for anything we could not come to Him with our problems and trust He would take care of us. Imagine how different our lives and the whole world would be if God was not constant

  2. I thought this article was very interesting. I like that it told why and how math works and where it came from. A lot of people just think math is math and that's just how it is, but really its a complex yet simple creation made by God. Math shows God even in everyday life.

    1. I agree. I think without math, humans would be nowhere. In modern standards it would probably be considered mentelly ill. Just think. Evan the word ,A, refers to 1, 1 is math.

    2. I like how you said that it is really complex yet simple and made by God. Whenever I think of being smart, I think of Einstein, not God. And truth is, God is way more smart than Einstein. Without God, a simple math problem could be too complex to figure out. He chose to give us the knowledge of understanding 1+1.

    3. I like how you said math is so complex to us, yet so simple in God's eyes, and how it shows God in our everyday life. We use math even when we don't think about it. 1+1 is so simple, but it only works every time through God

  3. I think this article is very amazing because it tells the aspects of math and how God magnificently created it. Also i think i is wonderful because he created something we use all the time, and not just some random person who decided 1+1=2or 12^2=144. And just as the bible says God created man in his own image and he created them to be able to teach people the ways to find out if a number is divisible by 3 or not. And all i can say is God i amazing in all that he do and I'm glad he made math and the different levels. (:

    1. I really liked how you said that God gave us the ability to help others understand math. Math can be very complicated and not everybody understands it or is able to use it. I think its really neat that God made math with patterns, and no matter how complicated it is, there is always an answer/pattern. That kind of reminds me of life and God/His Word being the answer.

    2. Yea that's definitely a good point. God created us to use the abilities that He provided us with to glorify Him. He created everything making us lead back to math because as far as we know, math has always been there.

  4. I am very, very pleased that the auther mentions Ephesians 6. It is one of my favorite passages in the Bible. It is avery important passage too; for here on earth and also when we get to heaven. I would love to preach a sermon on this, but there is probably a word limit on this.

  5. It was cool to be reminded that nothing can be neutral. It was a good reminder to make sure and observe things that we do every day to see if those things are Biblical or wordily. even math needs to observed this way. God created math to have a logical explanation for things and for us to do things safely and correctly. Even though I don't really enjoy math does not mean that God did not create it with a purpose.observer

    1. I agree. Sometimes I need a reminder that God created math and everything he created was perfect before sin.

  6. I really liked the verses from Col. God did create all things and He holds all things together. I also liked how they pointed out that math is not neutral, it is bibical. I think from now on I know I will be able to see math as something God created.

    1. I agree, i think without proof in the bible, it would be easier for Christians to doubt God. Math is not just something man created that happens to work. It is something perfectly and precisely made for certain uses.

  7. I have never thought about math in that way before. I love how this tells us how god holds math together by making it consistent every time. (Col. 1:17)

    ReplyDelete

    1. that's a good point because without God what would we do when math was consistent... makes you realize how powerful and thoughtful God is to hold something as simple as math and make it amazing. That was a good point Rebekah

    2. i also agree i never thought about math being involved with god and the bible before

  8. I really enjoyed reading the article because it hits on the fact that without God, math isn't possible. It says in the Bible He holds everything together, which means in a world without God, math wouldn't always be correct. It would become inconstant in the way it worked. 1+1=2 would only be the true fact in some cases. This would make math unreliable and ineffective. Many discoveries would be set back about 1,000 years because we didn't have simple math.

  9. Normally when I think about math, I don't appreciate it. I just set my mind on getting it done. This article taught me that even though I don't enjoy math, I still need to respect and be grateful for it because it's one of God's creations. When God made math and made it work, He was thinking of us. He knew that it would later on make things so much easier for us. He created it because He loves us. And by not appreciating it, we are not being grateful to God for giving us this gift. I think that this article was very helpful to me and showed me that even though I may not think God is watching out for me, He is.

    3. I totally agree Emma. Normally I think that math is boring. This gave me a new perspective on math class. GOD had made that math problem that I do, not just a person who wants to give me something to do for 3 hours.

  13. This article really made me view math completely differently. I don't love math, I'm not very good at it, but the fact that God created it to work perfectly and only prove the Bible more is fascinating. I should use math class as another aspect of my life to glorify God in by learning more about Him through His creation.

  14. This article was very interesting. I like how it tells us and gives us examples of how God made math. A lot of people think that there was just some guy a long time ago that was really bored and just made math up. That's not what happend God made math and its so cool how all of it comes together

  16. It was very interesting for me to read about the different opinions some people have about where math comes from and how it works. I've never really questioned the legitimacy of math, i always just went along with it because it always proves to be true. but there is clear evidence that math had a creator, and that creator was God. Only he could make everything work together so perfectly.

  17. I find this article pretty interesting. I think its awesome how God created the order of math. We don't really think about where addition came from and why it works.

    1. Sky is right. Not many people think about where addition came from but its interesting that God created it. Christian Perspective did a great job explaining that.

  18. I like how this article says math is 'neutral' meaning all religions agree on it. It also mentions the Bible saying nothing is truly neutral and that us as humans like to think that. I see this article as more of a Bible resource explaining math rather the other way around.

  19. I hadn't thought of math's origin or why it works before. I think I should remind myself about that when I complain about math. That way I am more thankful.

  21. I thought this article was very interesting. I like how it told why and how math works and where it came from and how it always works. With the example of 1+1 always=2. Math is really complex. It is a great creation made by God. Math shows how God is in everything and everywhere.

  22. It is truly incredible that God shows us His faithfulness in everyday math! He keeps what we know is true the same for all of existence. One plus one equals two because He has kept it true. Math is not neutral like some believe. It is full of God's truths. Look at the sunflower. It has a perfect pattern that keeps repeating because God makes it repeat.

  23. The article had a good point that nothing can be neutral. It reminds me that I have to evaluate everything, even the seemingly "neutral" things that come on a daily basis.

    2. I completely agree with you Nathanael. I think sometimes we don't like about even the small things God has created.

  24. I agree that even math cannot be neutral. That makes sense, but the fact that it was created doesn't really settle well. Here is the reason: there was a trinity before creation. That means there had to have been a quantity "3" from eternity past and to eternity future. Am I being shortsighted or misunderstanding the article?

  25. I think this article shows how we can just glance over things like math. For a large percentage of the things, people don't usually see them as a thing created by God to honor God. In order for addition to work, the numbers have to be constant. In order for all creation to work at all, God has to be constant. He always is.

    1. I agree. I never actually looked at math class as a way to honor God, but it is so true. Even though math is not my favorite subject, it can still remind me of God's goodness and perfection that I can't acheive. It is a good reminder to see that everything, no matter what, traces back to God.

  27. I liked this article in many ways but also as it explained why it is not neutral. God shows his power, faithfulness, and amazing design through math and many other things he created. It is incredible that he gives us the knowledge to be able to understand things such as math.

  28. I really enjoyed reading this article, because it reminded me that everything can give God all the glory. Personally, math isn't something I love doing, but I think I can enjoy it more now that I am reminded that it is a way to honor Him and show His perfection.

  29. This article made me think in a totally different way. I never really thought about how much math shows how faithful God is in everything. With the postulates and theorems in Geometry ensure the different things about angles and and triangles to be true constantly. God is totally the same thing. He says he will love us and there is no exception.

  30. This article shows me math can apply to God, something I did not think of before. It shows me that even in math, God has created another form of creation in our lives. It may not be an animal, or trees that this article talks about, but God is still creative in creating other things such as math.

I was excited to read this article and learn about God's role in math. I really aprecieated how plain and simple this article was, and how the author supported their beliefs with scriptures.
